The mission of Stony Run Brew House is to be a place that people can come for rest and refreshment to enjoy outstanding handcrafted beer produced in-house and locally along with inventive pub-style food in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
We are committed to the following:
The name Stony Run was inspired by local history. In 1882, the Stony Brook area, in what is now Springettsbury Township, received its name from Stony Run; the stream running through that area. Many of our beer names will be influenced by historical people, places and events in an effort to honor the rich history of the area.
Our vision for Stony Run, to be a place of rest and refreshment for all who walk through our doors, is inspired by the Trappist Breweries. While monks led a solitary life of work and prayer, they also believed in hospitality and charity. We also believe strongly in community and want to find ways to give back whenever we can.
Monasteries were renowned as places of refuge for travelers seeking a safe, clean place with decent food and drink which is exactly what we hope for Stony Run Brew House to be. Our unique European abbey-style décor is our way of paying homage to both the benevolent mission and outstanding brewing quality of the Trappist monks.
